Tamir Morag, defined as a "political correspondent" at Channel 14, has filed a lawsuit for approximately 160,000 shekels against someone who allegedly tweeted that he is a "40-year-old virgin."
In January, The New Yorker published an extensive magazine article about Channel 14, which serves as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's mouthpiece and spreads conspiracy theories. Morag tweeted in response a tweet that ended with the the word "Embarrassing."
In response to Morag's tweet, the Twitter account "Komi Israel" published a poster for the movie The 40-Year-Old Virgin where actor Steve Carell's face was replaced with Morag's face. Above the poster, only one word was added: "Embarrassing."
In the lawsuit filed by Morag, through attorney Yaakov Shindler, the plaintiff claims that the "Komi Israel" account is operated by Konstantin Chesta, a political activist better known to the public by the nickname "Costa Black."

"This tweet spread and was distributed in many WhatsApp groups and turned the plaintiff into an object of ridicule and humiliation," Morag claims in his lawsuit. According to him, the tweet also led to "many humiliating responses against the plaintiff through additional tweets, comments, etc..."
Among other things, Morag attached to his lawsuit screenshots of responses in which he is called a "bald virgin who works for the Qatar gang," (Reference to the Qatargate affair, in which it was revealed that members of PM Netanyahu's office received money from Qatar, which funds Hamas) "bald virgin," and "scum, human waste, 40-year-old virgin."
According to Morag, "There can be no dispute that the term '40-year-old virgin' is an offensive, embarrassing and humiliating expression, especially when said about a well-known person who appears every day on Channel 14's main news broadcast and has to endure public humiliations and insults due to his high visibility, all based on a completely personal matter that was intentionally meant to hurt and humiliate."
No statement of defense has been filed yet.
