The Freedom of Information Movement published violent crime data in Israel. According to the data, since Netanyahu's sixth government was established in December 2022, there has been a sharp spike in the number of murder cases in Israel.

The data was obtained following a freedom of information request, after police stopped publishing the statistics once the extreme right-winger Itamar Ben-Gvir (from the Otzma Yehudit party) was appointed as National Security Minister - unlike the previous period when Labor Party minister Omer Bar-Lev held the position.

In 2023-2024, during Ben-Gvir's tenure as the minister overseeing police, 479 people were murdered in Israel - an 85% increase compared to the two years before this government came to power.

According to the data, Beersheba leads in violent crime incidents (murder, attempted murder, robbery, threats, and assault), as does the entire Southern District.

Following Beersheba in the ranking of cities with the highest violent crime rates are Ramla, Rahat, Ashkelon, Bat Yam, Lod, Nazareth, and Hadera.

In absolute terms, Lod recorded more murders than any other city in the past five years: 52 cases. It's followed by Nazareth (33), Tel Aviv (31), Ramla (30), and Haifa (29).
